Effect of Cutting Treatment on Seed Yield and Seed Quality of Dill

Dill, Anethum graveolens L., is grown in various regions of the world. It has been used as vegetable and medicinal plant since ancient times. Seed quality important dill cultivation there limited information on effects cutting treatment this species. This research was carried out to find effect phenological traits, seed yield at Ege University, Izmir, during 2016-2018. The experiments were randomized complete block design with three replications, comprising for both spring autumn seeding period. Significant differences noted flowering period, attributes obtained results showed that days from sowing bolting initiation increased 51 65 period 153 184 height, number umbels per plant, weight lower cut plants comparison uncut produced significantly higher height (113 cm-spring period; 133 cm-autumn period), umbels/plant (8.4-spring 10.1-autumn period) weight/plant (6.4 g-spring 10.9 g-autumn period). decreased germination percentage by 9.27% 12.13% compared control seeds. Lower mean time 20/30°C (3.77 days-spring 4.54 days-autumn also observed plants. Thus, it concluded not recommended vegetative stage production provided planting periods.
